Description
The LoRa desk occupancy sensor anonymously detects the occupancy of office workstations (desks) using body heat. It transmits in real time whether a workstation is currently in use or not. The current status information can be used, for example, for table reservation systems or indoor navigation to the nearest free desk. Detailed statistics show overall utilization, usage trends and cleaning requirements.
Temperature and humidity data help to record, document and optimize individual working conditions.
The sensor also has a long radio range inside buildings and a battery life of up to 5 years. Thanks to a special transmission protocol, maximum availability of the measured values (>99%) can be achieved even at long ranges and in challenging environments. Thanks to its flexible mounting, this sensor is suitable for any table or desk, for example in offices or schools.

Data acquisition
- Infrared thermometers are used to detect whether an office workstation is occupied.
- A digital signal (occupied/not occupied) is transmitted in real time.
- Detection angle: 90°
Visualization
History of the occupancy of an office workstation in the LineMetrics office over the course of a week. The automatically generated statistics provide a quick overview of the degree of utilization of the workstation.

- The indoor air temperature (e.g. office, classroom) is transmitted every 15 minutes.

The battery-operated wireless sensor can be mounted under any table. It reliably records all values and transmits them via LoRa.

Warning messages can be created for individual ranges/limit values and provided with a trigger delay. This means that no warning is sent if critical values are only briefly exceeded. A second condition for triggering a warning can also be configured.
Alerts can be sent by e-mail (see screenshot) or SMS. The recipient, subject and message can be easily configured individually.
