Description
The LoRa air quality sensor is a compact sensor for monitoring the indoor environment that measures temperature, humidity and CO2. This data is displayed in real time on an e-ink screen, enabling a quantitative assessment of the room quality. The sensor is widely used in offices, stores, classrooms and hospitals. Thanks to LoRaWAN® technology, data can be transmitted over long distances with low energy consumption, allowing the LoRa air quality sensor to operate for more than three years on two replaceable batteries. Together with the Linemetrics platform, users can manage their sensor data remotely and visually. This sensor offers a practical solution for monitoring and improving indoor air quality, resulting in a healthier and more comfortable environment.

Measuring points
Data acquisition
- The CO2 level is recorded and transmittedevery 10 minutes.
- Value range: 400 – 5,000 ppm (+/-30 ppm/+-3%)
Visualization
Visualization / screenshot as line diagram (1-hour resolution):
Development of a CO2 level over the course of a month incl. Areas (and statistics) in the LineMetrics Cloud. The color-coded areas can be configured individually.
Data acquisition
- The air temperature is recorded and transmittedevery 10 minutes.
- Value range: -20° to 60°C (+/- 0.2°C)
Visualization
Visualization / screenshot as line diagram (1-hour resolution):
Temperature profile of a month in a LineMetrics office. As can be seen from the ranges, the majority of the measured values are within the optimum temperature range for an office. The color-coded areas can be configured individually.
Data acquisition
- The relative humidity is recorded andtransmitted every 10 minutes.
- The optimum operating range of the sensor is between 10% and 90% RH. Outside this area, make sure that the environment is non-condensing.
- Value range: 0% – 100% RH (+/- 2%)

Tested for you: The best sensor on the market
This sensor has prevailed against comparable models in our test laboratory and has proven itself in practice.
Enorme Funkreichweite: Ganze Gebäude abdecken
Many kilometers of range outdoors or hundreds of meters indoors – no comparison with WiFi! More >
Battery-operated with up to 3 years runtime
LoRa radio is very energy efficient. Depending on the quality of the wireless connection, the batteries will last for many years.
Plug & Play integration into the overall system
It’s easy to obtain your first measurement data in just a few minutes thanks to the modular system – from the sensor to the cloud.
Your benefits with the LineMetrics platform
All-in-one: A complete system for room monitoring
1. Record temperature, humidity and CO2
The battery-operated wireless sensor can be installed anywhere, e.g. in stores, classrooms or offices. It reliably records all values and transmits them via LoRa.
2. transmit measurement data
The LoRa wireless gateway creates a wireless network for up to 1,000 sensors. The collected measurement data is transmitted to the cloud via mobile radio.
3. evaluate and alert
All sensors are managed and all measurement data stored in the cloud. Analyses, alerts and data integration via API are easily possible.
What is behind it? Find out what LineMetrics can do to help you easily obtain the measurement data you need.
Developing and operating an IoT-based monitoring solution is more complex than many people think. Here is just a small excerpt of what LineMetrics can do for you in the background so that you can easily and reliably obtain the measurement data you need:
- Selection of international suppliers, supply chain management and price negotiations
- Selection and testing of individual hardware devices, hardware quality management
- Device and firmware management
- Optimizations in terms of radio range and battery life
- Database management
- Connectivity management (SIM cards)
- Security and encryption, including updates
- Creation of instructions and support during rollout
- 24/7 monitoring of the entire solution, support in the event of problems
Cloud platform: Analyze and process measured values
The LineMetrics Cloud allows you to create individual dashboards on which you can keep an eye on the data that is most important to you. Measured values can be displayed, combined and colored in the form of bars, curves, dial gauges, etc. This screenshot shows past and current measured values of the sensor:
Warning messages can be created for individual ranges/limit values and provided with a trigger delay. This means that no warning is sent if critical values are only briefly exceeded. A second condition for triggering a warning can also be configured.
Alerts can be sent by e-mail (see screenshot) or SMS. The recipient, subject and message can be easily configured individually.
Plug & play: obtain measurement data quickly and easily (< 3 minutes!)
The LineMetrics complete solution enables the solution to be commissioned via plug & play – without technicians, IT department, cable laying and network access. We will send you all the hardware with all accessories and simple commissioning instructions. The first measurement data can be analyzed in the LineMetrics Cloud within a few minutes. For questions, problems and tips, we have set up a comprehensive service center for you and can of course also be contacted personally at any time.
Video shows commissioning of the LoRa CO2 sensor – the procedure for the indoor sensor is the same.
