Description
The LoRa leakage sensor is a compact sensor for detecting water leakage (e.g. leaks, burst pipes) as well as temperature and humidity. Its IP67 housing protects the sensor and enables trouble-free operation in cold rooms, industrial environments and outdoor areas. Leakages are transmitted on an event basis so that an immediate response is possible. Temperature and humidity are transmitted at 10-minute intervals.
The sensor also has a long radio range inside buildings and a battery life of around 3 years. Thanks to a special transmission protocol, maximum availability of the measured values (>99%) can be achieved even at long ranges and in challenging environments. This also makes the sensor suitable for data acquisition as part of processes and quality tools that require auditing (e.g. HACCP or GxP). Thanks to LoRa wireless technology, significantly better penetration of insulated cold room walls can be achieved than with conventional technologies.

Data acquisition
- The installation site is monitored for water leaks. If the sensor comes into contact with water, an even-based message is transmitted.

This screenshot shows how a water leak was detected in a pipe. After drying, the sensor has changed status again.
Data acquisition
- The air temperature in harsh environments (outdoor, production, cold room, …) is recorded and transmittedevery 10 minutes.
- Value range: -30° to 0°C (+/- 0.6°C) / 0° to +70 °C (+-0.3°C)

Data acquisition
- The relative humidity in harsh environments (outdoor, production, cold storage, …) is recorded andtransmitted every 10 minutes.
- The optimum operating range of the sensor is between 10% and 90% RH. Outside this area, make sure that the environment is non-condensing.
- Value range: 10 – 90% RH (+-3%) / <10% and >90% RH (+/- 5%)

1. Detect leaks & co
The battery-operated wireless sensor can be installed anywhere, e.g. in storage/cold storage rooms. It reliably records all values and transmits them via LoRa.
2. transmit measurement data
The LoRa wireless gateway creates a wireless network for up to 1,000 sensors. The collected measurement data is transmitted to the cloud via mobile radio.
3. evaluate and alert
All sensors are managed and all measurement data stored in the cloud. Analyses, alerts and data integration via API are easily possible.

Warning messages can be created for individual ranges/limit values and provided with a trigger delay. This means that no warning is sent if critical values are only briefly exceeded. A second condition for triggering a warning can also be configured.
Alerts can be sent by e-mail (see screenshot) or SMS. The recipient, subject and message can be easily configured individually.
